Mullingar Choral Society Ushers in the Holiday Season with Annual Christmas Concert

A Festive Evening of Music and Community Spirit at the Cathedral of Christ the King

The holiday season in Mullingar is set to commence with the much-anticipated annual Christmas concert by the Mullingar Choral Society.

This cherished event will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 7:00 PM in the Cathedral of Christ the King.

Under the esteemed direction of Fintan Farrelly, the society's long-standing music director, attendees can expect a captivating program featuring both traditional and contemporary Christmas music.

Farrelly, a native of Longford and the organist and choir director at St. Mel’s Cathedral, brings a wealth of experience and passion to the performance.

The evening will showcase a premiere of "A Promise Born" by composer Ross Xanthopolous.

Adding to the night's allure are solo performances by Ami Hewitt, a coloratura soprano from Dublin known for her roles with the Irish National Opera, and Paul Kiernan Jr., a Mullingar native and member of the No.1 Army Band.

The concert will also feature the harmonious sounds of the Arioso String Quartet, the talented pianist Cathal Masterson, and a special appearance by the St. Kenny National School Choir under the direction of Joanna Fagan.

Tickets are available for purchase through Eventbrite, from any choir member, or at the door on the night of the concert.

Prices are set at €10 for single tickets and €20 for family tickets.
